Christine Nikander is a jurist, artist and freelancer. She is a graduate of Leiden University and Edinburgh University Law School. She holds degrees in public international law and environmental law. Throughout her studies, she also completed a number of courses in the natural and environmental sciences.
Her legal specializations lay in environmental law, human rights, public international law, EU regulatory law, international arbitration, intellectual property, commercial litigation and corporate social responsibility. From 2017 to 2020, Christine worked as an associate at a large law firm in Amsterdam. She now works as an independent jurist, an artist and a freelancer. She also regularly offers pro bono legal advice to social enterprises and young startups.
Christine has both the Finnish and the German nationality. She has lived in Germany, the USA, Finland, the UK and the Netherlands. She is fluent in English, German and Finnish and she has a good proficiency of Dutch, Swedish and French.
